About Me

My Journey to the SHIFT Method

My path toward holistic healing began in 2020, when I enrolled in a Practical Nursing program. While I gained valuable clinical knowledge and patient care experience, I realized that the traditional medical model didn’t fully align with my deeper values or vision for long-term wellness. That realization set me on a path of self-discovery—one that emphasized healing the whole person, not just treating symptoms.

In 2023, I became a certified Reiki Practitioner and Medical Intuitive through the Integrated Energy Medicine Institute, deepening my understanding of energetic and emotional wellness. I later graduated from the American Institute in Hartford, CT, in 2024 as a Licensed Massage Therapist, trained in a wide range of modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, trauma touch, myofascial release, orthopedic techniques, cupping, stretching, bamboo fusion, and sports massage.

As I stepped into professional massage work, especially in clinical and therapeutic environments, I noticed a common trend: many clients—often referred by chiropractors, physical therapists, or doctors—presented with similar pain patterns: neck, shoulders, lower back, and chronic muscular tension often rooted in stress. At the same time, I observed that massage therapists were frequently undervalued—paid per session with no recognition for setup, sanitation, documentation, or clinical expertise. Massage was often treated as an optional add-on, reinforcing the outdated idea that it was simply for relaxation, rather than a meaningful part of healthcare.

This led me to a pivotal question:

What if massage therapists could be fully integrated into the healthcare model—not as support staff, but as skilled partners in healing and recovery, with a system designed specifically for their clinical practice?

That question inspired the creation of the SHIFT Method—Soft Tissue Healing & Integrated Functional Therapy, which has evolved into a complete functional system for massage therapists. Unlike traditional SOAP documentation, which was designed for medical providers and often doesn’t reflect the realities of massage practice, SHIFT includes massage-specific diagnoses, structured session planning, and clinical documentation tailored for therapists. This system allows practitioners to track client progress, demonstrate measurable outcomes, and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.

SHIFT initially began as a 20-minute chair massage protocol, delivered fully clothed with no oils, blending techniques such as trigger point release, pin-and-stretch, muscle elongation, and guided movement to address common patterns of muscular dysfunction. It is fast, focused, and deeply therapeutic—ideal for busy clinics or workplace wellness programs.

As the method evolved, I expanded it to include a 30-minute table massage format for clients needing deeper or more comprehensive intervention, using oils or creams for full-body or region-specific care. In addition, 60-minute in-home sessions were developed to bring the full SHIFT experience directly to clients’ homes.

Both formats, as well as in-home sessions, are grounded in the SHIFT clinical system, which empowers massage therapists with their own documentation framework and massage diagnoses—supporting practitioner sustainability, professional recognition, and improved client outcomes.

Today, the SHIFT Method is more than a massage protocol—it’s a clinically structured system designed for massage therapists, helping elevate the profession, integrate massage into healthcare, and provide functional, measurable results for clients. My mission is to empower therapists, educate clients, and shift outdated perceptions of massage—one session, one clinic, one partnership at a time.
