About Me

My Journey to the SHIFT Method

My path toward holistic healing began in 2020, when I enrolled in a Practical Nursing program. While the experience provided valuable clinical knowledge and patient care exposure, I quickly realized that the traditional medical model didn’t fully align with my deeper values or vision for long-term wellness. That realization set me on a path of self-discovery—one that emphasized healing the whole person, not just treating symptoms.

In 2023, I became a certified Reiki Practitioner and Medical Intuitive through the Integrated Energy Medicine Institute, which deepened my understanding of energetic and emotional wellness. I later graduated from the American Institute in Hartford, CT, in 2024 as a Licensed Massage Therapist, trained in a wide range of bodywork modalities: Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, trauma touch, myofascial release, orthopedic techniques, cupping, stretching, bamboo fusion, sports massage, and more.

As I stepped into professional massage work, especially in clinical and therapeutic environments, I began noticing a common trend: Many clients—often referred by chiropractors, physical therapists, or doctors—presented with the same pain patterns: neck, shoulders, lower back, and chronic muscular tension often rooted in stress. Yet at the same time, I saw massage therapists being undervalued—paid per session with no compensation for setup, sanitation, documentation, or other essential responsibilities. In many clinical settings, massage was offered as an optional add-on, reinforcing the outdated idea that it was simply for relaxation, rather than a meaningful part of health care.

This led me to a pivotal question:

What if massage therapists could be fully integrated into the healthcare model—not as support staff, but as skilled partners in healing and recovery?

That question sparked the creation of the SHIFT Method—Soft Tissue Healing & Integrated Functional Technique—a clinically structured massage approach designed for measurable results and practitioner sustainability.

SHIFT was initially designed as a 20-minute chair massage protocol, delivered fully clothed with no oils or disrobing. It blends soft tissue therapies like trigger point release, pin-and-stretch, muscle elongation, and guided movement to address the most common patterns of muscular dysfunction. It’s fast, focused, and deeply therapeutic—ideal for busy clinics or corporate wellness programs.

As the method evolved, I expanded it to include a 30-minute table massage format for clients needing deeper or more comprehensive intervention. This table-based version allows for direct skin contact with oils or creams, ideal for chronic conditions, full-body assessment, or clients requiring broader muscular integration. Both formats are grounded in the SHIFT SOAP framework—a structured, clinical documentation system that supports collaboration across healthcare disciplines.

Today, the SHIFT Method is offered as a pilot program through Holistic Massotherapy LLC, where I continue to advocate for massage therapy as both a healing art and a clinical practice. My mission is to empower therapists, educate clients, and shift outdated perceptions of massage—one session, one clinic, one partnership at a time.
